Commercialized as the Springfield XD in the United States, HS manufactures polymer pistols in 3", 4", and 5" versions in all major pistol calibers from 9mm to .45ACP. Each pistol possesses a unique combination of safety and tactical characteristics not available in any other pistol in the world: Three safeties (trigger flange safety, striker block safety, grip safety - the grip safety must be depressed to fire the weapon), a loaded chamber indicator, a cocked condition indicator, metal sights, metal trigger, light rail, a fully ambidextrous magazine release, and metal magazines that will not warp or bulge. HS pistols have endured numerous tests, including a 20,000 "torture test" with no failures.
