Description: This low cost highly effective, device was designed to propel the ALSG101 and ALSG101P from a 12 gauge shotgun, with the use of a launching cup.
History/Background: This device was developed as a launching mechanism for the HORNETS NEST STING GRENADE and HORNETS NEST NON-LETHAL PRACTICE GRENADE. The main function of the launching cartridge is to extend the range of the ALSG101 or ALSG101P while minimizing officer safety issues.
Potential Targets/Applications: Civil Disobedience/Prison.
Propellant: Pyrodex (Black Powder Substitute).
Primary Users: Law Enforcement, Military.
Incapacitation Mechanism/Technology: The cartridge was designed to launch anALSG101 or ALSG101P up to 90 yards with proper use.
Physical Data: 12 gauge SAAMI.
Performance Characteristics: When fired, the device is designed to accurately place an ALSG101 or ALSG101P in the general vicinity targeted.
Delivery Means: 12 gauge shotgun.
Operational Strengths: Most officers are trained with the use of 12 gauge. Uses standard issue weapons. Requires special equipment i.e. Launching Cups.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Never aim at or above the Sternum. Less Lethal Ammunition can cause contusions, abrasions, broken ribs, concussions, loss of eyes, superficial organ damage, serious skin lacerations massive skull fractures, rupture of the heart or kidney, fragmentation of the liver, hemorrhages, and or death. Medical assistance should be provided immediately after an actual deployment of a less lethal munition even if no physical injuries appear on subject or subjects.
Penetration, though not a desired effect, can occur regardless of manufacturer or design.
