Description: The ALS HDPF parachute flare is the most powerful distress flare available. Both ALS HDPF white and ALSHDPF red are impossible to miss at their peak altitude of 1,000 feet. The intense brilliance of the ALS HDPF red achieves 30,000 candela and a burn time of 40 seconds, to alert others of a distress situation day or night. The ALS HDPF white illuminating flare is designed for use in crisis situations involving poor visibility or darkness, and for search and rescue operations. The white parachute flares have a brightness of 80,000 candela and a burn time of 30 seconds.

History/Background: The ALS HDPF was developed to overcome the shortcomings of conventional Parachute flare ammunition. These rounds were designed with no additional equipment requirements for operation.
